With the promotion on the “Smart City” concept, all walks of life put forward their own version of “Smart”. China National Offshore Oil Corporation (“CNOOC”), as one of the three major oil companies in China, has established a dedicated office to manage the integrity of equipment and facilities, and had proposed the concept of “Smart Offshore Oil” based on the digital management on the full lifecycle of equipment and facilities.

Using BIM (Building Information Modelling) for Facilities Lifecycle Management has become a hot topic in the last few years, but it is never implemented in practice. One reason is a lack of understanding of maintenance by design institutes and BIM vendors or related company. Another reason is the lack of suitable technological tools. In this article, we would like to illustrate this integration using the real-life integration made between the Cadmatic design tools and our bluebee® facilities management system.

Maintenance 4.0 specialist Siveco has announced the release of its standard integration module bluebee® cloud for Revit®. The integration makes all BIM (Building Information Model) data in Autodesk Revit® format available to bluebee® cloud FM (Facility Management) users.

The second quarter was an eventful month for the Siveco China team. Here is a quick peak into our Siveco People’s busy schedule.

I had the great pleasure to visit Tunis last month for meeting with our African partners. My main theme was “Siveco China on the Silk Road”, as our EPC business is taking us from Korea in the East to as far as Algeria in the West! Siveco enjoys a very strong presence on the African continent, thanks to a network of local partners built in the past 30 years. At the same time in neighboring Algeria, our ongoing CMMS project at the Boufarik gas turbine power plant built by Turkish EPC GAMA is moving into final delivery phase.

Experience has shown that the earlier reliability and maintainability are taken into account in a construction project, the better. This approach, which consists in paying more attention to maintenance earlier in the project, to reduce future operation cost, differs markedly from that of most Asian engineering and construction companies, which emphasize cost control during construction with progressive adjustments and modifications of the design as the project moves ahead.
