The scope of Siveco’s Enhanced Support Contract has been covered in previous articles. Over the years more and more clients have joined the program, benefiting from it in various ways. For this month’s Reliability article, we would like to feature two practical examples from clients we recently visited during the week-long visit of Siveco’s Operation Director Guillaume Gimonet and Customer Service Manager Sunny Wang in Guangdong province in early April.

This month we would like to share another example of multisite maintenance improvement project, this time in the automotive industry. Although discrete manufacturing is considered less maintenance-intensive than process industries, maintenance can have a tremendous impact. This is especially true of automotive suppliers, facing stringent requirements for quality and just-in-time delivery from automakers, their clients.

In this month’s Partner article, we feature a very different type of Siveco partner. Over the years, Siveco China has been known to very actively promote maintenance best practices and knowledge sharing in various forums. Our senior managers have spoken at numerous industry conferences, usually not to make a sales pitch, but instead to share case studies and to initiate discussions with the audience.

It has never been so trendy to help animals in need in Shanghai but our Operations Director Guillaume Gimonet never misses an opportunity to look good! Apart from being very committed to his work and clients, he finds time in his daily life to support his soon-to-be wife in her struggle for the animal cause in Shanghai! Nanou, Guillaume’s fiancée, is a volunteer at Best Friends China (BFC), the biggest expat and Chinese run non-profit animal welfare group in Shanghai, promoting rescue, adoption and responsible pet ownership.

While preparing for this March issue, it suddenly occurred to us that this month our Maintenance in China newsletter has reached his 5 years birthday! Not just myself but all of us at Siveco are very proud of the achievements of this half decade, with 53 issues and 300+ articles, covering maintenance knowledge, reference stories, CMMS users tips and the most popular section according to our web statistics: various Siveco “gossips” – customer visits, Siveco parties, funny photos etc.

For this first newsletter after the Chinese New Year, we would like to recap some key projects launched during 2014, with a focus on process plants: power generation, waste and water, chemicals and oil and gas. Siveco China has developed specific expertise delivering CMMS-based maintenance improvement projects for large multisite organizations that have their regional headquarters in China and sites all over the Asian region.
