Visit to Saint-Gobain Proppants in Guanghan: 60% maintenance cost reduction per ton in 3 years!
Siveco China’s General Manager Bruno Lhopiteau paid a visit to our customer Saint-Gobain Proppants in Guanghan, Sichuan province. The plant, producing ceramic proppants for the oil & gas drilling market, started production in 2006. It employs 50 people in the maintenance team. After an initial maintenance audit (2012), Siveco developed a maintenance improvement program for the plant, based on the implementation of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). The plant has already achieved a 60% reduction in maintenance cost per ton produced, thanks to a combination of Lean Manufacturing initiatives and the Siveco maintenance improvement program. More potential for improvement has already been identified, focused on optimizing direct cost, reducing downtime for planned maintenance and reduce the spare parts stock, to be achieved in 2015.
