Today I am telling you one of our best-kept secrets
Dear Reader,
Why do Maintenance & Industrial Risk Prevention often remain in the dark? When was the last time your General Manager, your Plant Manager or even your Technical Manager looked at reports, analytics from your O&M system – if you have one? Or perhaps they are too busy to care? If you get reports, how far remote (delay and accuracy) are they from the reality on the ground?
Most likely, your data is hidden, left unused and unchecked. This is why your technical management never improves. This is why your maintenance plans remain the same year after year and you don’t even realize it. This is why you struggle when an unfortunate incident happens and government auditors come chasing you.
At Siveco China, we make Industrial Risk Prevention & Maintenance visible, on big screens, ideally on touchscreens! Once the project starts, although data is perhaps far from perfect and users not yet accustomed to the system, we make all indicators and reports visible. Data comes straight from field workers, in real time. Weaknesses are made obvious, improvement actions come naturally, we use the system to drive continuously improvement. When people hear that they can touch the screen and click-through to see details, lo and behold: they do! They interact with your data, ask questions, help find answers.
These two blurry photos were published in Chinese media, they show then-mayor of Shanghai Han Zheng, now Vice-Premier of China, visiting our client Carrefour China. The retailer’s CEO and his Risk Prevention team introduced the system on the giant touchscreens they use to run the day-to-day operation of all their stores in the country. They were proud to show the system, to use it to demonstrate excellence, Han Zheng showed interest, so did the media. Your management is too busy to look at the system? Think again. The future Vice Premier of China wasn’t.
In this issue, we will share experience of related topics. The Reliability article consists in Demo movie on the practical use of BIM for O&M. The Customer story collects multiple client stories on “Real Digital Twins for O&M in China & abroad”. We are proud to feature our partner Schaeffler and our cooperation on IoT integration for maintenance. Tips & tricks focuses on integrating 3D digital models into Coswin 8i. Finally, a few stories from the early years of Siveco China and feedback from Siveco China costume party to welcome the Tiger year.
Many of our clients today use such visibility solutions. But many others don’t, they are still hesitating. Talk to your Siveco China contact person for advice!
