The Siveco China business I founded in 2004 has grown a lot. 2016 was a good year for us, with 50% growth in contract value and significant increase in profit.

It’s the time of the year I would not want to miss, with its many Siveco traditions, starting with the costumed Christmas Party! This year we went “Jianghu” in true Siveco epic fashion, dressed as colorful characters of ancient times… 2016 took our courageous heroes across China and around the world on the Silk Road.

We decided to publish the November 2016 issue on the theme of “Maintenance 4.0” in magazine format, with printed copies and pdf versions available to subscribers. In the era of the China Dream, there is now widespread awareness of safety, sustainability and their relation to maintenance. Maintenance as Risk Prevention.

Sustainable infrastructures have become a matter of national priority in support of the “China Dream”. An elusive concept for many, merely a business opportunity for others, the China Dream is very concrete for us at Siveco China: all our projects aim at reducing the life-cycle-cost and increasing the useful lifetime of the infrastructures with our Maintenance 4.0 approach.

Siveco China is on the Maritime Silk Road for power generation projects in Sri Lanka… and Tanzania! As usual, my team performs best when I am away travelling… In my absence, three major projects in the Chinese waste & water market have been signed and launched! One contract is for a waste treatment plant of Suez, a global player in the sustainable management of resources and a faithful Siveco China client for over twelve years.

One year ago, we announced that Siveco was tripling its investment in China. The main purpose of this investment was to strengthen our Maintenance 4.0 solutions for ultra-high buildings and infrastructure projects. BIM is fast becoming mandatory in large buildings and infrastructure projects, but its actual usage for operation and maintenance remains an open question.
