A new era for the “Maintenance in China” newsletter

Dear Readers,

It is a great pleasure and honor for me to write this month’s editorial. A Siveco China veteran, with almost 7 years of service, I been in charge of the “Maintenance in China” newsletter since its very first issue in 2010. Some say that I am the pretty face behind this newsletterthe pretty face behind this newsletter! In the past 4 years, we have published 48 issues, 6 printed special editions, for a total of almost 300 articles. People always think that I must have a large marketing team working for me, since we produce so much content every month, in time for the next issue… However this is not about quantity: our newsletter has gained a lot of attention and praises for the quality of its content, produced by the entire Siveco team.

In other words, we have over the years created a maintenance knowledge-base, thanks to our accumulated project experience. As time passed, we started to realize that our website, as part of which the newsletter is published, had become a hindrance. Old articles had become harder to find and outstanding content was hidden from view. The user interface wasn’t friendly enough and didn’t allow casual readers to find what they wanted. This is why, during the summer break, our marketing team decided to build a brand new newsletter blog, separate from the main Siveco website, making our content more openly available. Today I am happy announce that the newsletter blog is officially online! As the blog is still being improved, if you have any ideas, suggestion or if you find a bug, please don’t hesitate to write me at fiona.yan@sivecochina.com.

This month newsletter focused on Industrial Services Suppliers, drawing on our experience working with facilities management and technical services suppliers in China, a growing market segment for us and our bluebee® cloud solution, specifically designed for multisite service providers. This month’s Customer Story features Degremont, a subsidiary of Suez Environnement group, dedicated to engineer, operation and maintenance of water treatment plants. The same company is also covered as a Siveco Partner, as is often the case with our industrial services clients, there are great synergies between our two businesses and we have developed a joint service offering to end-clients. In the Reliability article, we comment on maintenance and CMMS-related market surveys (our Maintenance in China 2012-2013 survey report can also be found here). Tips & Tricks naturally showcases bluebe® cloud and its flexible user interface, designed to accommodate the brand and colors of multiple service suppliers and end-customers using the solution. Finally, in Siveco people, you will learn about some of our recent activities in Sichuan province. As usual, you will also find our Latest News.

I hope you enjoy the new newsletter blog! Please give me your feedback!
