Supporting maintenance and regulatory compliance in the food industry

France is Europe’s leading player in agricultural production. Siveco Group has a long history providing solutions to the country’s secure, modern and sustainable agri-food industry. As in China, the food industry is considered strategic in the ongoing industrial plan of the French government. Since 2009 in its Shanghai-based R&D center, known as the bluebee® lab, Siveco China has developed innovative solutions to meet the compliance, traceability needs of the food industry. The bluebee® cloud suite was first deployed to food retailer Carrefour China to help secure its cold chain, prevent technical risks and demonstrate compliance (see this previous article for more). Today, Siveco China has significant experience in various parts of the food chain in China, from upstream with ingredient producers, to downstream with food retailers, as well as with packaging manufacturers. Our company will continue to be at the forefront of innovation, in France and in China, to support a safe and efficient food industry.

This article presents some of our food industry projects in China.

Trolli (Guangzhou)

World-leading international candy manufacturer Trolli selected Siveco China in 2013 for the implementation of a maintenance improvement system at its Guangzhou factory, which produces candies for local and export markets. This project marked Siveco China’s entry into the Chinese Food & Beverage production market, an industry facing strong regulatory requirements and increasing government and public scrutiny. The plant’s General Manager initiated the CMMS project to replace the previous paper records, with a primary focus on spare parts stock (avoiding out-of-date and inaccurate stock information) and KPIs to measure maintenance performance.

Goglio (Tianjin) Packaging

Goglio is a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging solutions for the food industry. Since 2021, Siveco China assists in the standardization of its maintenance processes in compliance with ISO 55000 and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), a systematic preventive approach to food safety and provides Maintenance management consulting services. The implementation covers the existing GTP factory, as well as the new state-of-the-art plant currently under construction, for which 3D BIM model and its data are embedded into the bluebee® cloud platform. bluebee® app is applied for onsite work and inspection.

Savencia BSI (Tianjin)

Focusing on cheese specialties and high value added dairy ingredients, Savencia is among the world’s leading milk processors, the No. 2 cheese group in France and the No. 5 worldwide. The BSI Tianjin plant started production in 1997. In 2021, Savencia decided the Tianjin plant would deploy Siveco’s CMMS Coswin 8i based on the group Core Model established in France. The system was implemented by the internal IT department. The implementation covers full maintenance management scope, including web and mobile users.

MANE Fragrance & Flavour

MANE (www.mane.com), one of the worldwide leaders in the fragrance and flavour industry, has been operating in China for close to 20 years. Since 2014, MANE has selected Siveco China to implement a maintenance management system and mobile inspection solution at its production plant in Shanghai. As all companies in the food industry, MANE faces increasing regulatory pressure and constant scrutiny by its customers. The Siveco China mobile solution helps MANE realize paperless maintenance management. In the system, all equipment information and related technical documents are available, daily work records are complete and traceable and all safety-related records are also verifiable. As a result, MANE has received praises from its external auditors.
