COSWIN: Archive & History
At Archive all the costs of the work order are posted to the equipment and all the other cost “collectors” such as cost centres, budgets etc.
COSWIN is a dynamic system and it posts (automatically, if required) other information to the equipment such as the updated parts list. Also any information that needs changing in the Job Guidelines is carried out at this stage.
This history module is the database of each equipment. Everything that is known or that has been done to an equipment either via work orders (jobs) or other means is to be found here. All the costs of the equipment is collected both internal and those under contract. The module offers its own standard reports but with the COSWIN/Crystal Reports Designer, any other report can be made. Here is a quick overview of some the main information items in history:
At the most basic level a Pareto Analysis can be made. Pareto taught us “the law of the vital few”, that is that for many phenomena 80% of the effects comes from 20% of the causes. Thus for many equipments 80% of the costs, downtime etc have relatively few contributors. The trick is therefore to identify these few causes and correct them. COSWIN helps you at all stages, there are multiple standard history reports.

The history module is one of the richest resources of maintenance. It is from this module that you have all the elements to make improvements.
Under Diagnosis & Discussion you could create a quality circle or a group of the most experienced technicians to determine what actions could reduce the failure rates or the costs. Or, you could apply methodologies such as RCM (Reliability Centred Maintenance) to reduce failures.
