BIM for maintenance: smart… or not?

The use of “smart” BIM for O&M meets practical “dumb” challenges, especially in the Chinese market where maintenance practices are not well established. Useful lessons can however be learnt from experience and standards used in the industry. A project role must be created for O&M data preparation, first to define specifications, formats, schedules before major equipment contracts are signed, then to follow up data preparation activities during construction. As far as software is concerned, a practical advice is to avoid conflicts with project teams and software vendors: instead, an O&M layer added onto the BIM model can provide the necessary support. MANE Fragrance & Flavour ensures traceability, streamlines compliance audits with Maintenance 4.0

The project was structured around the ISO 55000 Asset Management framework (GB/T 33172 in its Chinese version) to ensue comprehensive coverage in compliance with the highest international standards. As part of the implementation process, the joint MANE-Siveco project team defined coding rules and structures and established a complete equipment information database. Workflows were streamlined and the spare parts management process was optimized.

Zhongshan Water enters the new era of “internet + production inspections” as mobile solution goes live

In August 2017, Zhongshan Public Utilities Water Company selected Siveco’s bluebee® solution to further enhance its Risk Prevention and Field Management processes for five water plants. In December 2017, the mobile production inspection system was put into operation at the Dongfeng Water Plant, thus marking the company’s entry into the new era of “internet + production inspections”.
