Using bluebee® in hazardous environment: Siveco’s continuing success with Bartec
Bartec (www.bartec.com.cn) is one of the world’s leading provider of innovative safety technology and the only supplier to have obtained regulatory approval to produce and to market ATEX-certified mobile devices in China. Bartec is a member of Siveco’s Value Added Partner Program (VAPP) since 2011. Siveco has also become an official Bartec Solution Partner and is among the first batch of officially appointed distributors for Bartec in China. Siveco’s bluebee® solutions are optimized to run on Bartec mobile devices (Windows Mobile and Android).
On August 5, 2014, two Siveco Shanghai team members received the Sales Engineer certification from Bartec, after undergoing training at the company’s headquarters in Shanghai. In addition to training on explosion protection, Bartec also introduced its latest product range including a new intrinsically safe Android smartphone “Impact X”. The new phone, which has received an award for Design Excellence, can run the Android version of bluebee® and is rated for use in hazardous areas (CSA Class 1 Division 1, IECEx, ATEX Zone 1).
The most recent project conducted by Siveco using Bartec devices was with the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park’s hazardous waste incinerator operated by SITA. In this project, which went “live” earlier this year, Siveco delivered Bartec ATEX-certified handheld devices running the bluebee® solution, integrated with the COSWIN 7i back-office system via the bluebee® sync synchronization platform. The same solution is already widely used in chemical and utility plants across China.
