6-days company outing in the exotic mountains of western Hunan!

The Siveco China team extended its national holiday for a long break together in the mountains of western Hunan Province from October 6 to 10!

The main team from Shanghai landed in the Hehua Airport of Zhangjiajie around 830 p.m. on October 6 and meet the rest of the members who came from their hometowns. To fill up the hungry stomachs, the team could not wait and went to try the famous local food just after check-in.

Early the next morning, we headed to the Wulingyuan Scenic and Historic Interest Area, where the team explored Tianzi Mountain where the grave of General He Long is located and Yuanjiajie, the well-known floating mountains featured in the Avatar movie. In the afternoon, the fog surrounding the peaks disappeared and sunshine appeared, revealing a marvelous scene of shiny rocks under the blue sky. After visiting the mountain area, we came down to the valley of Jinbian Stream. Sporty team members hiked along the stream in the forest, encountering wild and naughty monkeys. For evening entertainment, we went back to town to watch the “Charming Xiangxi” show in order to better understand local culture and customs.

The third day, we walked along in the Ten Miles Gallery enjoying various view of the Wulingyuan area. During the break, perhaps as the result of breathing unusually clear air, the Siveco masters decided to practice and demonstrate their unique Kungfu moves. Zhangjiajie area displays the typical karstic landform with diversified geological landscapes. Apart from peaks, the Huang Long Cave is another outstanding sight we visited, taking 2 hours to walk inside the natural stalactite cave from the underground river to the sixth Level. As per our tradition, the team ended the day at a local pub, privatized for the occasion, where our most talented members took the stage for their own show.

Day 4, we took the bus to Tianmen Mountain, 1518 meters high, and steep drive with 99 turns on the Heaven-linking Avenue, followed by a climb of 999 stairs to reach the Tianmen Cave. Technology came to the help of the lazy: we then took no less than 12 escalators to reached the Ghost Valley and its glass-bottomed walkway to test our courage. We went down with longest passenger cableway in the world, Tianmen Mountain Cable Car back to the city, from which our bus took us for a long drive to the Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture.

The Ancient Town of Fenghuang was the last stop in the journey. We stayed in a hotel alongside of the Tuo River and had both nighttime and daylight tours of the old town on day 5. Unexpectedly our flight back to Shanghai was cancelled due to bad weather, yet our holidaying team members remained in a good mood thanks to good arrangement by the airline. We were finally back to Shanghai on the 6th day around noon!

The trip ended up with wonderful memories and our admin team has already started to select the next destination…
