Welcome to the 80th issue of the “Maintenance in China” newsletter! 80 issues, almost 7 years, over 560 original articles! Since 2015, most articles are also published on our very active WeChat account (sivecochina). The idea behind the newsletter was that, since we are creating content all the time working on customers’ projects, why not share it publicly? By doing so, we would help create awareness of maintenance, an often undervalued or misunderstood discipline.

Welcome to the Summer 2017 edition of our “Maintenance in China” newsletter! As usual we wanted to take it easy during summertime, so we chose to collect some of our most popular articles. I would especially like to highlight the Reliability piece A practical bluebee®-driven PAS 55 / ISO 55000 implementation. As many of our readers already know, since May 1, 2017, ISO 55000 has become effective in China as a local standard GB/T 33172.

I am Sunny, Customer Service Manager of Siveco China, having the great pleasure to write this month’s editorial! At the end of May, I attended the annual technology conference held by Siveco Group, representing the Asia region. During the seminar, I shared my experience and our regional strategies with other countries’ colleagues.

For us at Siveco, the second quarter of the year is always the time to share experience with other Siveco companies worldwide. Thanks to the network structure of our group, experience flows from everywhere, not only top-down. China’s very dynamic market allows Siveco China to be at the forefront of Maintenance 4.0 innovation, while drawing on decades of best practices in mature markets, which in turn benefit from our innovations.

In this issue, we are pleased to share the results of our 2017 Maintenance in China survey. With 493 respondents, this 5th edition of the survey, conducted with Shanghai University’s Sino-European School of Technology, is by far the largest of its kind in China.

I am pleased to write this editorial, at the end of a very busy first quarter 2017. I will keep it short, as our newsletter content is very dense this month.
