The Year of the Snake has started and, just like the snake sheds its skin in spring, our “Maintenance in China” newsletter has a new banner. We hope you like it! December 2012 and January 2013 were eventful months during which we were delighted to receive several prestigious awards.

My favorite season is upon us again, Christmas time. After a busy month chasing the last few deals of the year, it is now time to relax, to enjoy being with family and friends, to reflect on the year past and to make new plans. Amazingly it is already the 9th Christmas for Siveco China…

This month’s newsletter revolves around the bluebee® movie we created for a mobile solution competition held by hardware supplier Motorola. The 3-minute film was entirely produced and directed by Siveco, with an all-Siveco cast. Making this little movie turned out to be a lot of fun, in the true Siveco tradition of “maintenance can be fun”.

First of all, I would like to thank those of you who attended the 8th Annual Process Industry Engineering & Maintenance Congress in Shanghai last month. For those who did not attend, perhaps because you are not working in the Process Industry, you really missed something… We all had fruitful exchanges on best practices and improvement methods and of course we all made useful contacts.

Welcome to the September issue of our newsletter, which we decided to send after the Mid-Autumn holidays when everybody goes back to work… I hope you enjoyed a happy Mid-Autumn Festival with your families, fresh and ready for the fourth quarter!

As I am getting ready for my summer vacation in the mountainous area of Northern Italy, birthplace of my ancestors, and in another mountainous area of France, where I was born, I am tempted to reflect on our history.
