In China, as a direct result of the economic slowdown, the so-called “new normal”, companies in all industrial sectors are now paying more attention to maintenance. This month, our newsletter editorial team has decided to focus on the maintenance assessment, as we seem to receive more and more requests for assessments.

As promised in last month’s newsletter, our case study book: On the road – Case studies of maintenance improvement projects in China is finally released! This book is about real industrial challenges and solutions, ROI and benefits, from about thirty Siveco China clients in various industries, in various provinces of China and even abroad, as we expanded our overseas business over the years working with Chinese EPC companies and China-based multinationals.

Here at Siveco, while our boss Bruno is enjoying a long vacation in France and Italy, we are all pretending to work the best we can. Siveco China is now the only maintenance consulting firm and the only CMMS supplier to be ISO 9001 certified in China (and apparently in Asia as well). Our exact scope of certification is: sales, support, design and development of maintenance management system and related mobile solution; sales and execution of maintenance improvement services.

Further to our GM’s article about Maintenance 4.0, I have received many interesting comments. The spirit of our Maintenance 4.0 initiative is to put fancy concepts into real, hands-on, industrial practice. Too often, companies are lost in a dream and little gets done in reality. Recently we see that some of our customers or prospects talk a lot about Big Data. Everyone talks about Big Data of course. Especially large IT and consulting companies… chasing Big Money.
