bluebee®, Product of the Year 2012!
The Year of the Snake has started and, just like the snake sheds its skin in spring, our “Maintenance in China” newsletter has a new banner. We hope you like it! December 2012 and January 2013 were eventful months during which we were delighted to receive several prestigious awards.
In December, Plant Engineering China magazine announced that bluebee®, our innovative mobile solution “for the worker of tomorrow”, was named Product of the Year 2012.
Upon receiving this prize, I was quoted as saying:
“We feel much honored to receive this award, to have been chosen by renowned manufacturing experts and perhaps even more to win the popular vote! Over the years, all the talk has been about “smart plants” – investing more in automating and computerizing the machines, which has indeed generated significant productivity improvements. Our bluebee® solutions are instead focused on people – investing more in technology to assist the workers in the plant, to help them capitalize their know-how, to make their life easier. This approach has proven very efficient but also very popular among our users – this is perhaps why so many people voted for us! “
In January, our short movie “A day in the life of a maintenance team” won the first prize at the Motorola movie competition. The movie received the highest number of votes and was named “most creative and best produced” in this intense 6-month competition with over 500 entrants. The 3 minutes film features bluebee® and was covered extensively in our November newsletter.
A big thank to our team, which has worked intensively on bluebee® since we launched this ambitious R&D initiative in 2008. We took a huge bet, which looks like it is paying off! Well done team! Keep up the good work!
After the holiday break, we are back with all the usual sections: under the topic “Why a CMMS?
