Best wishes for the New Year
The month of January tends to quiet in China, but this year’s has been rather hectic with major projects starting and negotiations ongoing for several deals. Thanks to the renewed media hype around Tablet PCs (the iPad of course and, lately, the massive marketing campaign for the Samsung Galaxy Tab device), it is exciting to see growing interest in our tablet and mobile solutions “for the worker of tomorrow” – the solution we officially released last year at the World Expo!
In this busy month, our people are traveling all around China: as I write these lines, we only have 4 people in the office! The other 23 are elsewhere in China on customers’ projects: Wuhan, Nanjing, Hohhot, Beijing, Wuhu, Shenzhen, etc. I would like to take this chance to thank all our team members for their efforts over the years. I am blessed with an excellent team of hard working, clever, trustful boys and girls, who have grown with us over the years to become experts in their own rights. This company is their company, our success is their success, and the well-being of our employees remains this company’s primary goal: I believe this is one of the keys to our good performance!
This month’s newsletter has all the usual sections: the Reliability article focuses on the maintenance assessment, a necessary stepping stone to launch improvement projects; our Partner section features Beijing Sino Power, a company that integrated 3D BIM (Building Information Modeling) with our own FMS (Facility Management Systems); auto components maker Brose Wuhan shares with us how they obtained ROI from maintenance improvement in the Customer section; finally Tips and tricks highlights the use of meters in our CMMS. In the end you will also find our Latest news. Due to the long holidays, the next issue of our newsletter will exceptionally combine two months. This joint February-March issue will be released in March.
As I personally arrived in China during the previous Year of the Rabbit, I hope the coming year will prove particularly prosperous for me and our business! This year again we have decided not to spend any money on Chinese New Year greeting cards. Instead we are simply sending email greetings and donating a share of our 2010 profit to Project Hope (希望工程), helping children in poor areas to receive an education. What is more important than children’s education?
Now it is time to think about our families and spend time together with loved ones for the beginning of the New Year. From all of us at Siveco China, our best wishes for a happy and prosperous Year of the Rabbit!
