Siveco customers in Western China

Siveco China enjoys a growing customer base in the Western provinces of China (Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Tibet, Shanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia, Guangxi and Xinjiang), with naturally a strong focus on the more industrialized Sichuan province and Chongqing. This month’s Customer Story gives snapshots of customers in this area.

Siveco’s first customer in the region was also our first bluebee^® client! Sichuan Lutianhua is a manufacturer of fertilizers, with its production base located in Luzhou. The company has already implemented a so-called “EAM” system and was looking for ways to improve its inspection process, at the core of its maintenance organization. Lutianhua implemented bluebee^® in 2010, enjoying immediate benefits in terms of staff motivation and the “clean up” of its technical database. The project enabled a risk-based inspection approach based on accurate and systematic records. The project has since been expanded to other plants. The full case study is available here.

Saint Gobain Proppants produces ceramic proppants for the oil & gas drilling market in its factory located in Guanghan. The plant started production in May 2006 and has undergone modernization. In 2012, Saint Gobain Proppants decided to launch a maintenance improvement plan, to ensure better equipment reliability and proper tracking of maintenance costs. Thanks to its proven track record in other divisions of Saint Gobain in China, Siveco was initially hired to conduct a maintenance audit at the plant. In January 2013, Siveco was then selected to run the entire project, based on the implementation of a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), with related maintenance engineering services.

Chongqing Sino French Water Supply Company has launched a maintenance improvement program with Siveco. The project aims at establishing maintenance best practices at the company’s five water treatment plants, supplying drinking water to 1.2 million people in the several districts of Chongqing municipality. To support this project, a modern Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) will be implemented, in replacement of the existing software and Siveco is providing engineering services to build up the technical database. Li Feifei, Deputy General Manager, described the project as follows: “The cooperation with Siveco marks another stage in our development, to introduce advanced scientific preventive maintenance methodologies”.

Retail giant Carrefour operates 15 hypermarkets in Sichuan, 6 in Chongqing, 10 in Yunnan, 3 in Xinjiang and 1 in Guizhou. In order to ensure the protection of people, assets and goods across its 230 stores all over China, Carrefour selected Siveco to deploy a Risk Prevention Management System (RPMS), based on the bluebee^® software suite. The system is available on a large multi-touch panel at the company’s national control center in Shanghai, while users in all the stores can connect through a secured internet browser. Security alarms from all the stores are automatically treated by the RPMS, together with all incidents and non-compliance reports, as well as audit reports from field personnel equipped with bluebee^® mobile devices (PDAs and tablets). Ningxia Hanas New Energy Group operates the country’s largest onshore natural gas liquefaction project, a 1.27 billion CNY investment, with a production capacity of 2 x 0.4 millions tons per annum. The LNG plant is located in Yinchuan, Ningxia province, and started operation at the end of 2011. Siveco was selected during the construction stage to deliver a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), complete with all the plant’s technical information: equipment structures, preventive maintenance instructions, spare parts lists, etc. The CMMS was delivered and Hanas teams were trained before the plant startup, allowing for a smooth handover of information from construction to operations.

Guizhou Yindu Speciality Aluminates produces aluminate cement and is located Qingzhen, Guizhou province. Based on a successful experience of similar plants in other parts of China, the company hired Siveco to implement its maintenance management system during the construction phase (an approach pioneered by Siveco) thus ensuring that the plant was fully documented before start-up. The project was completed in an exceptionally short time – less than 2 months – just before the plant starts production in August 2011. This project allowed Guizhou Yindu Speciality Aluminates to keep its maintenance work under control from day one, enabling true equipment lifecycle management.

Sichuan Tianyu Oleochemical Company produces oleo-chemical products at a large-scale production facility in Luzhou. The plant has been in operation since 1993. Based on the improvement obtained by other Siveco customers in the chemical industry, Tianyu decided to deploy the bluebee^® inspection management system. bluebee^® allows inspection teams to access the know-how base (work instructions, historical records, measurements) and to report from the field, without having to rely on inefficient paper processes. The mobile project is designed to drive the implementation of a complete maintenance management system for the plant, to standardize best practices and to supporting decision-making by using KPIs generated by the system.

Two of our large property management customers, Changcheng Property Group and Green Property Management, respectively headquartered in Shenzhen and Shanghai, manage high-end commercial and residential properties located in Chongqing, Shanxi, Sichuan, Yunnan and Ningxia provinces. Both companies use a central bluebee^® cloud system, accessible on the internet from each site, with mobile users equipped with bluebee^®.
