“What works, what doesn’t”: Maintenance 4.0 & Industrial Risks Seminar successfully held
On August 19, the seminar on “Maintenance 4.0 & Industrial Risks: what works, what doesn’t ” was successfully held in German Centre Taicang. In this session, senior experts from Siveco China and Schaeffler shared practical experience and solutions for the Chinese market.
The seminar was hosted by German Centre for Industry and Trade Taicang. Ms. Marieke Bossek, General Manager of German Centre Taicang made an introduction to open the session.
Bruno Lhopiteau, Managing Director of Siveco China delivered a speech on sharing 20 years of experience improving maintenance in China. Bruno has been dedicated to maintenance in China since the late 1990s. He explored Industry 4.0 challenges and shared Siveco China’s Smart O&M solutions aimed at implementing best work practices from top management to technicians. The speech was mainly presented in the form of case studies, providing practical guidelines aimed at MNCs and industrial SMEs.
Leo Liu, Industry 4.0 Senior Engineer at Schaeffler Greater China, a leading global supplier of automotive and industrial products, which is actively shaping digital transformation and the connection of components and systems to boost the efficiency of machines and facilities, spoke on “Plug, Play, Predict – Schaeffler Condition Monitoring Expertise Helps Maintenance to be Predictive”. In the speech, Leo talked about how to incorporating IoT in the maintenance system, with a demo of an integrated solution with Siveco China.
Ample time was made for Q&A in this interactive session. All attendees engaged in deep discussions and exchanged insights with the experts during the snack and networking session.
Industry 4.0, with its near-magical promises, has also bought confusion. The strong regulatory push of the past few years has put Maintenance back on the map for most manufacturers. The seminar focused on the theme of Maintenance 4.0 & Industrial Risks, sharing how to solve the problems and address the reality on the ground in China, with meaningful impact on industrial risk management.
