In March 2014, Suez Environnement<\/a> subsidiary SITA Waste Services<\/a> established a joint venture with Shanghai Chemical Industry Park Investment Corporate (SCIP) and Nantong Economic Technology and Development Area Company (NETDA) for the construction and operation of a new hazardous waste plant in the Nantong Economic Technology and Development Area. The contract will approximately generate a revenue of 4.9 billion RMB in the coming 30 years. <\/div>\n

<\/br><\/p>\n

The energy recovery and treatment plant (referred to as \u201cSITA Nantong\u201d) has a design capacity of 30,000 tons\/year for the treatment of locally-generated hazardous waste and 3,300 tons\/year for medical waste. This state-of-the-art incinerator strictly meets both Chinese and European emission standards and is managed according to the best international safety and environmental standards.<\/div>\n

Why the project?<\/strong><\/div>\n

Siveco was selected to implement the Coswin 8i computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for the plant, when it was still under construction, in order to: <\/div>\n

Implementing a CMMS during plant construction<\/strong><\/div>\n

<\/br><\/p>\n

China\u2019s largest maintenance consultancy, Siveco is known to have pioneered the concept of implementing maintenance systems during the construction<\/a>. Siveco started working with Suez Environment companies in China in 2005 and has since delivered dozens of projects for the company\u2019s water supply, waste treatment and energy projects all over Asia.<\/div>\n

<\/br><\/p>\n

During the third quarter of 2015, the project officially started. Two Siveco consultants teamed up with the client staff to form the joint project committee. The kick-off meeting was held in February, 2015 when plant was still under construction. One year later, the system went live, before plant start-up. <\/div>\n

Results obtained <\/strong><\/div>\n

<\/br><\/p>\n

By working with the EPC and equipment suppliers, Siveco assisted SITA Nantong to build up its \u201cas-built\u201d plant database, which was immediately used to support commissioning. <\/div>\n

Siveco delivered a comprehensive CMMS scope, thanks to a step-by-step implementation approach aimed at promoting maintenance improvement at the plant, through a progressive structuring of the maintenance activity towards systematic analysis and preventive maintenance. <\/div>\n

Siveco also defined specific report templates for plant overhauls. The same report will later be deployed to the sister SITA sites in Shanghai<\/a> and Taiwan<\/a>, allowing benchmarking of overhaul activities between sites. <\/div>\n

Meanwhile, the plant is using an ERP system to manage its purchasing and stocks. An interface has been set up between the two systems to simplify maintenance cost accounting.<\/div>\n

On February 26, 2016, the \u201cMaintenance Inception Training<\/a>\u201d program conducted by Siveco China for Suez waste and water treatment plants in the Greater China region won the Gold Award at the Suez Asia Innovation Trophies. The Inception Training is part of an overall Maintenance Excellence program managed by Siveco, aimed at providing a strong common guideline for all Suez maintenance teams, in order to promote, enforce and sustain good maintenance management practices.<\/div>\n
