Dear Subscribers,
This month's newsletter departs from the usual online format.
A part of our involvement in the 7th Process Industry Engineering and Maintenance Congress, held in Guangzhou on May 30-31, we decided to publish the May issue in magazine format. Printed copies will be distributed at the event and pdf versions are sent to subscribers (download links below).
This special "Process Industry" edition contains updated versions of some of our most popular reliability articles (Technology-enabled technicians vs the intelligent plant, the Chinese view and Preparing maintenance from the construction stage), one case study (Leading PVC maker revolutionizes its inspection process, adds value to SAP), an introduction to bluebee® and our latest news. The editorial is a slightly modified version of my controversial "Death of EAM" article - truth is I love controversy!
Nothing new for our regular readers but I personally found it useful to revisit old topics, which remain relevant throughout the years.
We will let you know how the Guangzhou event went. We expect around 80 engineering and operations executives from the process industry (mostly chemicals), many of them from greenfield plants still under construction. I have been invited to give a keynote speech on "Lessons from 15 years of maintenance improvement projects in China". Judging from previous editions of this congress, I expect fruitful exchanges!
